Policies

The full API-specific Acceptable Use Policy, data retention terms, and Terms of Service live on a dedicated page: /developers/policies . The summary below is for quick reference only — the linked page is authoritative.

Summary

  • Not legal advice. Every API response carries the same disclaimer shown in the CAILegal product — outputs are a research/drafting aid, not a substitute for a qualified lawyer.
  • Acceptable use. No claims of unauthorized practice of law, no resale of API access without a partner agreement, and no abuse/scraping of the API beyond your contracted rate limits.
  • Data retention. Request/response content is retained only as long as needed for billing and abuse monitoring. Enterprise customers processing privileged material can request a zero_retention flag on their key/org to skip content logging beyond the billing minimum.
  • Your data isn't used for training. Consistent with the rest of the CAILegal platform.
